Creativity is much more than just a skill you list on your resume:
I believe it’s a way of life. Something one is born with and not trained to do.

Like a twister that tears the flesh of mother earth,
cancer is the turmoil that carries us and tears us apart both physically and emotionally for the chosen,
their families and friends.
My painting illustrates two partial figures.
My two aunts caught up in a twister.
This journey illustrates three
leading cancers in women:
lung, breast and cervical cancer.
The figures that are looking away
represent the shame of their loss
that once made them whole.
The ribbon symbolizes the chosen
and the salvation of those
who have walked through the
Valley of Shadow of Death.

ARTIST STATEMENT:
My body of work is an embodiment of influential styles, such styles as Henri Matisse, Patrick Nagel, and the Pre-Columbian Art of the Aztec and Mayan with a hint of Salvador Dali. Perhaps to some, it's not the perfect combination of artist, yet for my vision the perfect masters. Each making a bold statement with simple geometric shapes. My vision is of a bold simplistic intertwine style, full of color, life, and depths. The representation of the past and the present in most cases.

Rose Petals,
a change of seasons.
Like a rose that sways in the storm,
the storm of uncertainty.
All which remains are the scars
of what once was, the clumps
and flowing hair loss from
chemotherapy.
My rose petals,
a change of seasons.
And though wilting I may appear,
simply a contemplating moment
of what came to be
A sigh for a ray of light
I choose to see.
My rose petals,
a change of seasons.
Rainbow patch a bed of roses
that lay upon green leaves.
A birth, the sign of life
my rosebud brings to me.
My rose petals,
a change of seasons.

A Sun Among Roses
(Embracing Our Differences)
Among the swaying roses, I found my sun
that stood among a patch of thorns today.
Those pesky prickles that cause us pain
the sadness is we're all the same.
Will each sway among thorns one day.
The question is do we want to be the same.
Let us hope one day to end those games
these pesky prickles played today.
No longer will we endure the scars or pain
pesky prickles we're all the same.
Now let us stop to say
No! I won't be the same.
A pesky prickle that causes pain.
